This temple, a masterpiece of Thai architecture, was founded in 2000 by the famous Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, and is composed of white concrete and several thousand small mirrors. Then, ride by motorized canoe (“long tail” boat) on the Mae Kok River, to a Karen village. Walk in the village. Return to Chiang Rai. Installation at your hotel. Dinner free. Breakfast at the hotel. After that you going to Doi Tung (Flag Peak) by a winding and steep road through villages Shan, Akha and Lahu. You visit the botanical garden Mae Fah Luang wich is at 950 meters high and covers 4 hectares. It is certainly one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Thailand. We will continue our way to Mae Saï, Thailand’s northernmost point, on the Burmese border. Mae Saï is a prosperous small town where you will meet many mountain people from the area. Lunch. Then discover the famous Golden Triangle, where the borders of the three countries meet on the Mekong River: Thailand, Myanmar (Burma) and Laos. Motor boat ride on the river delimiting the 3 countries and return to Chiang Rai. Dinner free. Accommodation in Chiang Rai hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Doi Mae Salong. You will see tea plantations and ethnic villages. You will go up to the village of Guomingtang, Chinese refugees opposed to the Chinese government since 1950. Lunch. Road to Chiang Mai, nicknamed the North Rose. Transfer and installation to your hotel. Dinner free. Accommodation in Chiang Mai hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a pleasant descent of the river in bamboo raft (about 50 minutes). Then short walk (15 minutes) in oxcart. Continue to an orchid farm where more than 150 species of orchids will dazzle you with their beauty. Lunch. Then we visit the artisanal district of Sankamphaeng, 13 kilometers east of Chiang Mai. You will discover all the craftsmanship of the Thai people: silk, parasols, precious stones, lacquer, wood, etc. Returning to hotel. Dinner free. Accommodation in Chiang Mai hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to one of the most finely worked temples among those of province: Doï Suthep. This temple stands at 1053 meters above sea level and dominates the plain of Chiang Mai Basin. Unique panoramic view in clear weather. Free lunch. Transfer to Chiang Mai airport.
